Thursday, May 18, 2017 – The 2017 Triple Crown Travel Baseball Tour Season starts off with a visit to Texas. The weather in May should be pleasant on our Texas & Atlanta Southeast Swing Baseball Tour #1. We are extremely excited to announce that all of our fantastic hotels on this baseball tour are within walking distance of the ballparks we will be watching games in. Meet-up with your tour hosts and other guests at our first hotel the Courtyard Marriott Arlington Entertainment District before we head over to Globe Life Park for this afternoon game on May 18. The Philadelphia Phillies are in town for an interleague match-up with the Rangers and you can enjoy the game from our premium lower level shaded seats for the 1:10 PM start time.
Friday, May 19, 2017 – On Friday morning an AT&T Stadium Tour is on the agenda. This football cathedral built by Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones has become the gold standard for domed sports stadiums and cost well over a billion dollars. With seating for over 80,000 (and a capacity of over 100,000 with standing room only areas) this stadium is a destination of its own and a true sight to behold. After the tour, we will head down to Houston as the Astros are hosting the Cleveland Indians. Minute Maid Park is the venue for this match-up and the domed stadium has many unique features. The quirky Tal’s Hill is being removed for the 2017 season, but the overhanging left field porch and the train tracks above the stands remain, offering up interesting vantage points from all over the ballpark. Our hotel for the evening is the recently built Hampton Inn Houston Downtown, located just one block from Minute Maid Park.
Saturday, May 20, 2017 – After a free breakfast at the Hampton Inn Houston Downtown, we head out on Saturday morning on our deluxe charter bus for travel to New Orleans. We take a one day break from baseball and allow for free time to explore this lively city on the banks of the Mississippi River. Our hotel for the night, the New Orleans Marriott, is located downtown right in the middle of the French Quarter near all the action of Canal and Bourbon Streets. You will have plenty of time to enjoy a great meal, visit the Garden District, or just relax and revel in the nightlife while visiting the famous ‘Big Easy.’
Sunday, May 21, 2017 – We depart New Orleans and take a beautiful drive into Alabama. On the schedule is an afternoon minor league game in historic Montgomery, AL. The setting is Riverwalk Stadium, an intimate ballpark on the shores of the Alabama River, and home to the Montgomery Biscuits. The Biscuits are the Double A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and will be playing their Southern League counterpart the Jackson Generals. After the game take advantage of your prime downtown hotel location at the upscale Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center, only steps from the ballpark and close to many unique restaurants, shops, and bars in the Alley Entertainment District.
Monday, May 22, 2017 – The final jaunt on our Southeast Swing Baseball Tour brings us to Atlanta and a visit to the brand-new SunTrust Park. The first new ballpark opening for MLB since 2012, SunTrust Park replaces Turner Field and will be the home of the Braves for many years to come. The Pittsburgh Pirates are in town to play the Braves in the finale of our Southeast Baseball Tour. Once again, enjoy the comforts of a top of the line hotel at the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Atlanta Galleria and check off another ballpark off your baseball travel bucket list.
Tuesday, May 23, 2017 – Check out of the Doubletree Suites Atlanta Galleria hotel at your leisure, but make sure to gather your new found friends contact information to share stories, exchange pictures, and hopefully plan on another tour in 2018 with Triple Crown Travel.
